Space to belong...
a place to begin.
Sometimes life feels heavier than it should. You might be struggling with anxiety, feeling disconnected from yourself, navigating a difficult life change, or finding it hard to make sense of what you're going through. You don't need all the answers. You just need somewhere to begin.
A space to feel heard, understood and supported
At Belonging Therapy, we believe you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. Our counselling service offers a safe, compassionate and confidential space to explore what you’re going through, understand yourself more deeply and find a way forward that feels right for you.
Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, relationships, grief, life changes or simply feeling stuck, therapy can help you make sense of things, build resilience and reconnect with yourself. You don’t need to have all the answers before you begin — you just need a space where you can be yourself.

A Little About Your Therapist
Choosing a therapist is a personal decision. It's important to find someone you feel comfortable talking to, someone who will listen without judgement and help you explore things at your own pace.
At The Belonging Therapy, our approach centres on creating a supportive therapeutic relationship where you can feel heard, understood and respected.
You don't need to know exactly what you want to say or where you want to begin. We can start with what's happening for you right now and work together from there.

It's okay not to have everything figured out.
Our therapy services in Glasgow provide a confidential, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.
Counselling can provide support for a wide range of personal and emotional difficulties, including stress, anxiety, low mood, relationship problems, bereavement, life changes, confidence issues and feeling overwhelmed. You don't need to be experiencing a specific mental health condition to seek counselling.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a structured approach that explores how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours can influence one another. CBT can help you recognise unhelpful patterns and develop practical strategies for managing difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, stress and other challenges.
Psychotherapy provides a space to explore your thoughts, emotions, experiences and patterns of behaviour in greater depth. It can help you develop a better understanding of yourself and explore issues that may be affecting your relationships, wellbeing and everyday life.
There isn't one type of therapy that is right for everyone. The most suitable approach will depend on what you're experiencing, your goals and your personal circumstances. During an initial conversation, your therapist can discuss your needs with you and help you decide whether counselling, CBT or psychotherapy may be appropriate.
Your first session is an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you would like support with. Your therapist will ask questions to understand your situation and may discuss what you hope to achieve from therapy. You don't need to know exactly what to say or have everything worked out beforehand.
Therapy provides a confidential and private space where you can talk openly with your therapist. Your therapist will explain their confidentiality policy, including any circumstances where confidentiality may need to be limited, such as concerns about serious risk of harm.
It's very common to feel nervous about your first appointment. Talking about personal experiences can feel daunting, particularly when you're meeting a therapist for the first time. Therapy should be collaborative and at a pace that feels manageable for you.
