Answers to help you feel comfortable and ready.

What is Belonging Therapy? +

Belonging Therapy is a safe, supportive space where you can talk openly about what you’re experiencing, explore your feelings and develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships. There is no judgement and no pressure to have everything figured out before you begin.

What types of sessions are available? +

You can choose from three session options: Online, In Person, or Walk & Talk. Each offers the same supportive therapeutic approach, allowing you to choose the setting that feels most comfortable for you.

How do I know which session option is right for me? +

There is no right or wrong choice. Some people prefer the privacy and convenience of online therapy, while others value face-to-face connection. Walk & Talk sessions can be a good option if you feel more comfortable talking while moving and being outdoors.

Do I need to know what I want to talk about? +

Not at all. You don't need to arrive with everything worked out. We can take time to explore what's going on together and work out what feels important to you.

How long is a therapy session? +

Sessions are typically 50 minutes. Your therapist will explain the structure and what to expect when you book.

How often would I need therapy? +

This is different for everyone. Some people find a small number of sessions helpful, while others prefer longer-term support. Together, we can review what feels appropriate for you. Typically we would start with 6 sessions then we would review.

Where do Walk & Talk sessions take place? +

Walk & Talk sessions take place in an agreed outdoor location. We'll discuss the setting, accessibility and practical arrangements before your first session so that you feel comfortable.

What happens if the weather is bad? +

Don't worry — we can discuss alternative arrangements if the weather makes a Walk & Talk session unsuitable. Depending on your circumstances, we may be able to move the session online or arrange an alternative.

Can I switch between Online, In Person and Walk & Talk? +

Where practical, yes. Your needs can change, and we can discuss which format feels most appropriate from session to session.
